Review and backup your installation using the following NetResults Tracker
Knowledge Base article.
Installation Instructions
After you have followed the instructions in the 'Prior to Installing the Feature Pack' section (above),
follow the instructions below to apply this feature pack to your NetResults Tracker installation.
- Unzip the nrt661fp1.zip file into a temporary directory (for example, C:\temp).
The directory should contain the files listed in the Contents section above.
- On the web server machine where NetResults Tracker is installed, login to Windows as local Administrator (or a user in the local Administrators group).
- Login to Workgroup Management System (WMS) as ptadmin in a new browser.
- Click on Admin icon in the tool bar. Select the option (View Common Parameters used by WMS) and click the Continue button.
- In the 'View Global Information' page, write down the value for Web Directory. You will need this value later in this process.
By default, it will be C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\NetResultsTracker. It may be a value other than the default, if the default was overridden during the original installation.
- Block all your workgroups. To block all workgroups, do the following:
- Click on the Admin icon. Select the option (Block/Unblock Workgroups) and click the Continue button.
- Select all the check boxes and click the Block/Unblock button.
Click OK to confirm.
- The State column should display Blocked for all workgroups.
You have blocked user access to all of your workgroups.
- Copy the 1 file from the Workgroup folder of temporary directory in step 1 into the following directory:
<Web Directory>\pttemplate,
where <Web Directory> is the directory you looked up in step 5.
Click Yes to replace the old version of the file.
- Copy the 3 files from the Admin folder of the temporary directory in step 1 into the following directory:
<Web Directory>\pttemplate\Admin,
where <Web Directory> is the directory you looked up in step 5.
Click Yes to replace the old version of the files.
- Copy the 7 files from the Include folder of the temporary directory in step 1 into the following directory:
<Web Directory>\pttemplate\Include,
where <Web Directory> is the directory you looked up in step 5.
Click Yes to replace the old version of the files.
- Copy the 2 files from the Internet folder of the temporary directory in step 1 into the following directory:
<Web Directory>\pttemplate\Internet,
where <Web Directory> is the directory you looked up in step 5.
Click Yes to replace the old version of the files.
- Copy the 1 file from the ptadmin\ASP folder of temporary directory in step 1 into the following directory:
<Web Directory>\ptadmin\ASP,
where <Web Directory> is the directory you looked up in step 5.
Click Yes to replace the old version of the file.
- Copy the "CheckBrowser.inc" file from the Include folder of temporary directory in step 1 into the following directory:
<Web Directory>\ptadmin\Include,
where <Web Directory> is the directory you looked up in step 5.
Click Yes to replace the old version of the file.
- Copy the "CheckBrowser.inc" file from the Include folder of temporary directory in step 1 into the following directory:
<Web Directory>\ptcommon\Include,

Click Yes to replace the old version of the file.
- Repair each of your workgroups. To repair each workgroup, do the following:
- In the Workgroup Management System (WMS), click on the Repair icon.
- Select the workgroup name from the pulldown and click on the Repair button.
- Select ONLY Option 1 Copy Web Files and deselect (uncheck) the other two options (Option 2 and Option 3). It is very important that options 2 and 3 are not checked as resetting file system permissions and IIS application settings to their defaults will lose all customization you have made to your installation (possibly resulting in a system that no longer functions properly).
- Click on the Repair Workgroup button to proceed and complete the repair operation.
Click OK to confirm.
This repair operation copies the feature pack files to each workgroup. Perform steps 14-a to 14-d (above) for each of your workgroups.
- Unblock all your workgroups. To unblock all workgroups, do the following:
- Click on the Admin icon. Select the option (Block/Unblock Workgroups) and click Continue button.
- Select all the check boxes and click the Block/Unblock button.
Click OK to confirm.
- The State column should display Active for all workgroups.
You have unblocked user access to all of your workgroups.
- Click on the Logoff icon in WMS and close your web browser.
- You have now applied the feature pack to your NetResults Tracker installation.
- By default, almost all browsers are already configured for use with Tracker. However, if support for cookies or JavaScript have been disabled in your browser configuration, then you may need to modify the settings.
If you have any questions regarding this feature pack, please
contact NetResults Technical Support.
