Software License

NetResults Tracker is installed on a server. Each end user must have a license to use NetResults Tracker. Three types of user licenses are available: Static, Floating, and Restricted.

Static ("Named" or "Dedicated") Licenses: Best for frequent users, who receive a dedicated license to log into NetResults Tracker at any time.

Floating Licenses: Best for occasional users, who share a pool of licenses among a predetermined pool of users (the number of allowable predetermined users is equal to ten times the number of floating licenses purchased). Most customers have found that one floating license for every 2 to 3 potential users works effectively.

Restricted Access ("Support Customer") Licenses: Intended for use by your customers when NetResults Tracker is used as a Customer Relationship Management application (e.g., as help desk system or automated support portal). Restricted licenses are used by your customers to interact with you (to report issues, check status of reported issues, view summaries of reported issues), but these licenses limit their access to only a few functions.

Software Updates and Support

Software Updates and Support (SUS) for NetResults Tracker Standard Edition and NetResults Tracker Enterprise Edition includes software updates (including new versions) as well as email-based support (Monday through Friday, 6:00 am to 5:00 pm Pacific Time, excluding holidays). Although support requests are initiated via email, our technical support staff will respond via phone, fax, email, NetMeeting or whichever medium is best suited to resolve your problem.

For your installation to receive support and software updates, SUS subscriptions for all licenses must be current.

NetResults Tracker is available as a hosted solution (software-as-a-service) or packaged software (for you to install on your server).

NRT-SE vs NRT-EE

NRT-EE is designed for enterprise users. It includes all the features of NetResults Tracker Standard Edition (NRT-SE); in addition, it offers enterprise features such as discussions, and alerts & escalations.

Static vs Floating Licenses

Static license allows your installation to dedicate each license to a user. Since the license is dedicated, he can log on anytime he wants to. Static licenses are thus best for users who need to log on to Tracker frequently.

Floating licenses allow you to share licenses among a pool of potential users. The number of users that can concurrently be logged on is equal to the number of floating licenses your installation has; the number of users allowed in the pool is ten times the number of floating licenses.

Restricted Access Licenses

Support Customer or Restricted Access licenses are intended for your support and helpdesk customers who need only limited functionality, such as reporting issues, checking status on issues they have reported, and running text reports (Saved Queries) on the Home page to view summaries of issues they have reported. NRT-SE Online and NRT-EE Online
